we’ve been at this for 9 seasons!

flatlanderfarm

Hellow! I am Lisa and I run Flatlander Farm with my husband, Keith; we created three beautiful kiddos, Bartlett & Lake, and Josephine, our daughter who would be 3 years old. She’s with us in the stars, on her own big journey.

Flatlander Farm is a pasture based farm located in Starksboro, VT. We raise slow growing chickens, ducks & geese, and goats- all for meat. We’re first generation farmers, building our farm from the pasture up. Keith and I have full-time off farm jobs to help make our on-farm dreams a reality. We’ve been at this for 9 years now, and while the farm pays for itself, we’re not at a point to be able to pay for all of our time. We also find joy and satisfaction from our off farm work. I work in breast imaging as a Mammography Specialist, performing mammograms and screening breast ultrasounds, as well as biopsies. Keith is a local food/farm guru- he is the lead purchasing manager for a local food hub.

When we started the farm we made a conscious decision to scale up slowly, as not to accrue large amounts of debt. We’ve had to be scrappy and creative. I’m so proud of all that we’ve created, grown, and built.

This summer we were able to build a sweet little farm stand. All of our products are available in the farm store- we’re open daily 8 am - 8 pm!

Thanks for being here through it all! I am active on Instagram and love interacting and building our community there, too. Be sure to follow us there and invite your friends to follow our free range mountain farm dreams coming true. #farmdreams#vtduck#vtgoose#pasturedchicken#grassfarmers#smallfarm#explorevtfood#vtfarmstand#starksborovt#vt
